Director of TEF Marine Ltd. Tom Feakins is an experienced Master Mariner, having worked for over 17 years’ within the maritime industry. During that time Tom has worked on a wide variety of shipping, renewables, oil and gas and marine projects worldwide. Tom has served on a wide range of vessels including anchor handling and harbour tugs, platform supply vessels, survey vessels, private yachts and cruise ships, and was a marine pilot on a broad list of vessel, including cargo vessels and tankers.

Tom has also contributed to the safe system of operation of port compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code, represented client interests on projects including numerous wind farms, both offshore and loading in of jackets. Oil and Gas project work includes the towage of Jack Up, Semi-Submersible drilling rigs and specialist tows; such as pipeline bundles and concrete caissons.

In addition to extensive operational experience of leading teams of marine professionals, Tom has a keen interest in professional development, regularly conducting online coaching sessions for those sitting their Master Mariner exams. Tom holds BA in History, a BA in Marine Operations, and a MSc. in Marine Operations. Tom also provides technical assistance and advice to legal firms on maritime law cases, such as collisions, allisions, grounding, and unseaworthiness, safe port and safe berth warranty claims.
